Elections on Friday

Regional Chapter Is April 16-18,
Open to All Fraternity Members

The 2010 Regional Chapter will feature triennial elections, plus informative and inspirational presentations.

The gathering takes place April 16-18 at Stella Maris Retreat Center in Skaneateles, NY.

Friday will be devoted to elections and to formation, with a special presentation by Regional Spiritual Assistant Richard Trezza, OFM. Elections were originally scheduled for Saturday, but needed to be moved up to Friday to accommodate the national pastoral witness' schedule, explained Regional Minister Mary Frances Charsky, SFO. Father Richard was asked by the Council of National Spiritual Assistants to be the pastoral witness, but he has to leave Friday evening in order to go to Rome, Italy for his Franciscan province. Presiding at the elections will be National Treasurer Dennis Ross, SFO.

Saturday through Sunday lunch will be devoted to regional business, additional presentations, and opportunities for prayer and reflection.

Registration is from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Friday.

All fraternities in the regional are expected to send a representative as regional business will be voted on during the gathering.

“The chapter is open to all fraternity members, not just the ministers or their delegates, and we encourage other attendees especially in light of the presentation on Friday by Father Richard and our elections,” notes event coordinator and Regional Vice Minister Kim Marks.

“This is your opportunity to meet and speak with our Regional Executive Council, our national visitors as well as your fellow Franciscans in this region… Many have found the experience beneficial to their fraternity and fraternal life. We look forward to seeing you there!”
